Chunghwa Telecom, Far EasTone Have Separate Deployment NB-IoT Plans
December 15, 2017

Chunghwa Telecom announces that they will cooperate with a new Taiwanese IoT (Internet of Things) startup USPACE to create an IoT-based shared parking platform with an app connecting to all smart lock equipment, according to United Daily News on December 8. The operator also indicates that they will assist government and enterprises in planning future transportation plans taking advantage of such platform. This year, Chunghwa Telecom has been actively developing its own IoT application platform while deploying NB-IoT (Narrowband-IoT) networks to adapt to the environment with the low mobility and transmission rate. Meanwhile, another counterpart Far EasTone also kicked off its first NB-IoT network in Taiwan, according to its official press release. The company expects the network to reach 7,000 enterprise subscribers within the next three years, contributing more than NT$40 million to its total revenue by 2020.
